Enjoy a nostalgic scenic excursion along the shores of the lake. We travel between Meredith & Lakeport always within view of the lake. The railroad line was built in 1849 by the BC&M RR before any development occured on the then remote lake. We travel through the front yards of many resort homes. Once part of the Boston & Maine Railroad, they brought tourists to the lake for summer vacations from the late 1890’s to the 1950’s. Early on they operated some steamboats on the lake. Weirs was a busy summer resort with many fine "Grand Style Hotels”

Ice Cream & Food Service Car
Sundaes, Beverages, Snacks, Gifts, Lunches, Restroom and is located on north end of the train. Our specialty is the highly  popular Hobo Picnic Lunch which includes a choice of sandwich on a bulky bun, chips, beverage, a giant cookie and our famous souvenir "Hobo Bindle Stick" All this for only $10.00.

Ride in the Cupola of our Caboose for only an additional $2.00 Just as the train crews used to do in days past with very close watch out for any Hobos and the many freight cars ahead from your lofty perch. Go here
