    • "Where Does The Train Ride Go?

    The Winnipesaukee train runs from Meredith NH along Meredith Bay and arrives at Weirs Beach home of the MV MT Washington. After a brief stop to pick up a lot of passengers, we continue to Lakeport along "Paugus Bay". Trains have a food service car with souvenirs, snacks, beverages as well as an onboard toilet. We arrive at the turning point of the ride in one hour (1/2 hour from Weirs) at Lakeport. There is no station here so passengers relax on board, watch the boats and enjoy the breeze. Lakeport is the only water outlet from the lake. From here water flows from here over a small dam to Winnisquam then to Silver Lake through Tilton to form the Merrimack River. Our engine uncouples from the coaches and runs up the side track to get to the other end. After we complete the coupling we head carefully north to Meredith stopping to handle passengers at Weirs Beach, Some Groups disembark here for a connection with the MV MT Washington. The train then continues on to Meredith.

    RIDE OPTIONS: Train and Boat Ride - Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad offers a 10:30 Departure for one and one half hour ride with group departing at Weirs Beach to board the MV Mt Washington for a ride across Lake Winnipesaukee to Woleboro where your tour bus picks up the passengers. Passengers can enjoy a lunch, Hart's Turkey Farm Turkey Dinner or other food options with this tour.

    IMPORTANT POLICICIES TO REMEMBER:
    Minimum Group is 40 paid riders. This is waived when we are running our normal seasonal scheduled trains.  Harts Turkey Dinner groups however require 40 at all times. One Complimentary Turkey Dinner meal per 20 paying passengers   It is important to arrive at least 20 minutes before train time. Late groups should please call us at 603-745-2135 as sometimes we can modify things so that your group can be still accommodated.

  • Confirmation Policy: We request the tour operator or escort to CONFIRM passenger counts 7 DAYS prior to your arrival. This count will be used for the final group invoice. If the group arrives with fewer passengers you will be billed for the confirmed count. If you have last minute additions please contact us as soon as you know so we may be prepared. Meals are ordered and prepared for your group by our food service providers and they need this information from us in advance.

  • Special dietary accommodations can be made if we know at least 48 hours in advance. There may be a sur-charge for special meals depending upon the need or request. If anyone in your group has special boarding needs please let us know when you call to confirm so we may serve their needs.

  • Comp Policy: 1 full comp for every 20 paying passengers

  • Meal Policies: For TURKEY DINNERS, we require the tour operator or escort to CONFIRM passenger counts 7 DAYS prior to your arrival. This count will be used for the final group invoice.   • For HOBO PICNIC LUNCHES the escort or the tour operator MUST call in the sandwich selections at least 2 HOURS before arrival in LINCOLN. For MEREDITH we need to know the afternoon before arrival. . The choices are Ham, Roast Beef, or Turkey. They are all served on a large roll with cheese. The condiments are on the side. A vegetarian sandwich can be requested. This count will be used for the final group invoice. If the group arrives with fewer passengers you will be billed for the confirmed count as meals are ordered and prepared for your group by our food service providers.

  • Minimum Passenger Requirements will be enforced: On day that the train is running our general public schedule we can accommodate small groups for a ride or lunch ride with no problem. On days that we are only operating for bus tours, as is the case during the months of April, May, and before June 29TH, most days in September & October, and all days in November & December, the minimum passenger guaranty is 40 paying passenger. This may be waived if there are other groups traveling at the same time. The minimum passenger guaranty is 40 paying passengers for Turkey Dinner Service at any time. Again this can be waived if there are other groups traveling at the same time.

  • Other Policies: We ask that tours arrive at your departure location at least 20 minutes to departure time. We do try to accommodate late arrivals but it is not always possible to hold the train for late arrivals. If you are running late please call to let us know so we can implement a plan. If possible when you call to confirm your group, please give us a cell phone and or escort name that will be our contact for your group on the day of service. Often times it is helpful to know what hotel or bus company that you are using for the group.

    THE WINNIPESAUKEE SCENIC RAILROAD, Meredith, NH GROUP TOUR SCHEDULE & PRICING FOR 2010 Effective January 5, 2010

    All aboard for an 18 mile, 2 hour round trip train excursion in vintage, restored coaches. You will journey along the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee traveling between Meredith, Weirs Beach and Lakeport. The Meredith Station is located at 154 Main St, Meredith, NH 03253. Most groups board here. We operate for groups most any day between May 1st and November 1st. Minimum passenger requirement is enforced for groups on days that we are not in general operations.

    General Public Schedule from Meredith for 2010 is as follows:

  • Departure times from Meredith are 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. 5:00 pm is a special train for groups wishing turkey dinners. Weekends only May 29th through June 28th. June 12th -20th is difficult to schedule groups as this is “Bike Week” and we run a different schedule that is not generally suitable for groups.

  • Daily Trains June 29th – September 6th. Departure times are 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. 5:00 pm is a special train for groups wishing turkey dinners.

  • Weekends only September 7th through October 24th. Departure times are 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. 5:00 pm is a special train for groups wishing turkey dinners. There are special fall foliage trains in addition to our scheduled trains on selected weekends in the fall. Please call for more information and reservations.

  • MID WEEK FOR GROUPS AFTER LABOR DAY – NOVEMBER 1ST. Departure times from Meredith are 10:30 am, 1:00 pm AND 5:00 pm is a special train for groups wishing turkey dinners.
